Lesa and Leslie have been colleagues since 1983. They initially met when they were working for a Medicare Carrier who administered the claims operations for the physician Part B services in Chico, California. Through the years they have worked side by side each starting out as medical claims examiners. Their combined experience includes quality auditing and analysis, supervision in medical claims review, quality controls and technical system implementation, compliance monitoring to include statistical sampling, utilization review and fraud auditing. They have each been utilized as a liaison for educational training for team members from senior management down through the Medicare Carrier organization, Electronic Data Systems (EDS) personnel, physicians, suppliers, attorneys, Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) legal representatives, HCFA/CMS Regional Office personnel and other government agencies and beneficiary outreach. Leslie represented the Medicare Carrier at National Hearing Officer Conference.

Lesa and Leslie were Independent Medicare Hearings and Appeals Officers for Medicare Physician Part B services and Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetics Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) Medicare Contractors since 1988. They have taken their 28 years of experience and are now committed to assisting the physician and supplier community to meet the Federal Government’s (CMS) Quality Standards.
